During seabird monitoring at Yaquina Head a number of years ago by
the U of W an adult bald eagle swooped into the common murre colony on
Colony Rock and snatched two adult murres off the rock, one in each
talon! Both murres were struggling as the eagle flew in the direction
of the nest and one murre was able to break free over the beach and
regain tis freedom. Two small trout by an osprey......no big deal!
