We understand (almost) every single aversion to the fact that these little guys we spotted were Wrentits, but for the final time, they were not Bushtits. We are 100% of that. We get the bushies ever day. We have noted their behavior, the characteristics, markings (or lack thereof) and their size. These were definitely not Bushtits. We are not saying that they were unequivocally Wrentits. Just that they were not Bushtits, Siskins, Juncos, any kind of Sparrows or Warblers. We really do appreciate every ones input, but the emails stating that we don't know birds from holes in the ground are getting a bit much.
We know that Wrentits are not around Mult. Co. and that there are many other explanations, but please believe us when we say that they were not regular backyard visitors. We have logged almost 60 species in the backyard and we know what they weren't. It doesn't mean that we're stating what they are, only what they are not.
Thanks again to ALL who posted. We truly appreciate everything.
