At about 8:15-8:30 at the Eugene Airport this morning, I saw well over 1,000 of what appeared to be CANADA GEESE migrating northward.

I was at a conference in Ventura, CA over the weekend and got a little bit of sight-seeing in on Saturday afternoon. Just from casually walking around for an hour and a half, I saw several BLACK PHOEBES, WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS, SONG SPARROWS, LESSER GOLDFINCHES and what appeared to be two male ALLEN'S HUMMERS. I suppose that I could've confused the latter with RUFOUS HUMMERS, as their wings make the same buzzing sound. But they appeared to be more red than male Rufous and I wouldn't necessarily expect Rufous to be in the LA area this early.
