[obol] 3rd South GP raptor survey (JoCo)

Today (02-14-08) the 3rd South Grants Pass raptor survey was accomplished.

Total of 2.5 hrs; 26.7 miles; weather:  mostly clear, some thin, partial overcast sky.

Observed were:

Red-tailed Hawk - 9
American Kestrel - 5
Bald Eagle - 1 adult
White-tailed Kite - 1
Turkey Vulture - 2

What a difference a day makes:  Seen along part of route on 02-13-08 (Leonard Rd) were:  2 Red-shouldered Hawks, 1 Merlin and 1 Cooper's Hawk, all of which managed to stay out of sight today.  Also, added 3 species to our day list for here yesterday:  SAVANNAH SPARROW, RING-NECKED PHEASANT and TURKEY VULTURE.
