[obol] American Tree Sparrow at Scappoose Bottoms

I didn't re-locate the AMERICAN TREE SPARROW, but this was most likely due
to the sheer number of sparrows swirling up and down and across the road in
that area, rather than the bird no longer being there. I spent maybe 45
minutes walking up and down the area at about 8:45 am, but I didn't get a
good enough look at what may have been the bird to feel comfortable saying
100% that it was.

But I always enjoy a morning birding in that area (at least until the
persist in cutting down all the poplar plantations).

Other birds that showed up:

SONG SPARROW (many, many of course)
GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW
FOX SPARROW
AM ROBIN
N FLICKER
KILLDEER (heard)
MARSH WREN (keeping a low profile in the tall grass)
CINNAMON TEAL
MALLARD
HOODED MERGANSER
RED-TAILED HAWK (6, w/ 2 dark morph)
BALD EAGLE (1 imm, and 1adult in one of the nests that I assume are what
Lona Pierce was pointing out as the heron rookery--I had been curious about
all those big nests in the trees there and was grateful to get Lona's
explanation, only to see a Bald Eagle making use of the largest right-most
nest!! Intruder!)
GB HERON
N HARRIER (m and f)
AM KESTREL
GREAT EGRET

There was a ROUGH LEGGED HAWK in the area through January, but I didn't see
it anywhere today.
