Hi Obol-

  Had our first BAND-TAILED PIGEON of the spring calling today, then I saw it in one of our yard trees.  A prelude to the 30-40 
we'll have at our feeders later.  Other signs of spring have been creeping up slowly- mourning doves cooing, dark-eyed juncos and 
spotted towhees and house finches singing.....  very pleasant.  I also saw a TURKEY VULTURE over Corvallis yesterday, but that's 
probably hardly reportable anymore.
