Hi,
Today I saw a very aggressive W. Kingbird attack two Ravens. I was outside sitting in the shade and 6 Ravens came sailing across the sage, they were looking for a thermal. There was a small bird attacking one of them. They went close to the ground, the smaller bird threw back up and started on another one, with the same results. As they all turned to leave the area one of the Ravens made a pass at the small bird, which climbed away eluding the pass. I watched the bird fly towards our house. When it landed on the power lines I got a good ID on it. This pair of Kingbirds have been very aggressive around the yard but this is the first they have shown towards other birds from outside. When they returned this Spring they drove the Sage Thrashers away from the nest tree. We saw plenty of fights, lots of feathers flew.
