[obol] Elegant Terns in Waldport [Purple Martin Nest Boxes]

Hi,

   Eric Horvath has put up many Purple Martin nest boxes at Yaquina Bay
and elsewhere along the coast.  At Yaquina Bay, some can be viewed
attached to the piling in the middle of the "lagoon" just north of the
Hatfield Marine Science Center Visitor Center parking lot, near where
the OSU's research vessels, the Wecoma and Elakha, are docked.

   Some of Eric's boxes are also on the piling in the middle of Sally's
Bend (which is the mudflat east of Newport's LNG tank).  At low tide,
1-2 adult Bald Eagles regularly perch above the boxes on top of the
piling.
