Ooops got Yaquina Bay and Yaquina Head mixed up...we did not visit Yaquina Head... corrected below. KC









Sunday, July 13th Yaquina Bay 
 
It was a beautiful claer day, windy, about 56 degrees. The wind was whipping the sand dunes into new and curious shapes and streams of sand were hissing past our feet like smoke. It was interesting to watch erosion at work on a small scale.
 
In the South Jetty Beach Parking Area - 
 

20 Western & 10 ring billed & 5 Glaucous-winged Gulls (Est.)
25 Heerman's Gulls (Est.)
 
>From the north side below Yaquina Lighthouse - 

40 Heerman's Gulls (Est.)
1 Common Murre (resting near the rocks)
2 Pigeon Guillemots
1 Surf Scoter
1 White winged Scoter
