[obol] using my head for a chickadee rescue

Oh, this is really a good one. I was kayaking up at Hosmer Lake last Monday
and was gliding through an inlet (maybe about 100 ft wide)....small trees on
one side and some rushes on the other. Lots of excited BLACK CAPPED
CHICKADEE chatter from the small trees and suddenly a fledgling Chickadee
projectile flew straight at me at eye level. At the very last minute it
zipped upwards enough to land on my head!!!! specifically my tan colored
full brimmed nylon sunhat. I was stunned (fortunately not by a collision)
and just sat still listening to the very excited chatter from the Chickadees
still on shore and focusing my energy to trying to feel some evidence of the
Chickadee on my head. After a few minutes, I cautiously raised my hand to
my head, thinking that the Chickadee must have flown off to the other shore,
but to my surprise, I felt the fuzzy little ball still on my head. As soon
as I touched it, off the little bird flew, fortunately back to its cheering
compatriots, which fluttered around excitedly on its return. A successful
first flight!
