"What struck be was my reaction to the flight--that's a woodpecker--the
slender, straight, long, pointed bill and undisturbed flight with full
wing beats on a bird having the overall look of one. I didn't notice
where on the wings the white occurred, but my memory is that I tended to
see it more at the bottom of the wing stroke when I would have been
looking at the top of the wing."
