I would have to second that opinion.  The lack of feathered tarsi eliminates 
most Phasianids (grouse/ptarmigan) of similar size.  The small bill, rounded 
head and apparent smaller size eliminate Chukar & Gray Patridge.  The lack 
of head plumes eliminates most quail except Scaled.  The crest is not long 
enough or forward on the skull enough to be right for this species, however.

I'm sure there are other minutia that I overlooked, but Northern Bobwhite is 
a good fit.
