[obol] Hybrid hummingbird in Hines in early May

Hi All,

Six photos of a hybrid hummingbird that visit the feeders of Patty and 
Wayne Bowers of Hines, Harney County in early May can be found at the

The first three photos are by Rick Vetter, the others by the Bowers. 
One parent was obviously Black-chinned Hummingbird, and the rufous in 
the outer tail feathers indicate that the other was a Selasphorus 
species. I did not see the bird, so Patty might be able to answer any 
questions you have. Comments on the ID welcome.
