I birded Columbia County on Friday Feb. 29th. Along Honeyman Road the
sparrows were very sparse and no Tree Sparrow. There was one GOLDEN
EAGLE among 3 immature Bald Eagle catching a thermal at the spot where
the Tree Sparrow was found by Jay. This may have been the Golden Eagle
that was hanging out on Sauvie Island. There were TREE SWALLOW in
several places near Warren.
A big thank you to Lona. I saw the LESSER GOLDFINCH in her yard as well
as the ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD coming to her feeder. There were also several
PURPLE FINCH there.
I am at 113 species for the year in the county.
