[obol] rockpipers

I've seen Least Sandpipers and Western Sandpipers not
just roosting but feeding on the rip rap at Sallys
Bend many times. I've seen this at the Port of Alsea
several times as well.
I've seen Dunlin and Sanderling feeding on the rocks
at the Yaquina Bay South Jetty as well as the rocks
near the point in Yachats and northward (even before I
could ID them with absolute confidence - if they're
not flying I can now). The Whimbrel last week seemed
out of place on the jetty rocks but it was actively
filling its belly the whole time we were there.
These continue to be "strange" sights but for me even
more strange by far is watching Black Oystercatchers
probe those long beaks into soft sand.
