[obol] First Rufous Hummer For Us

Today we had our 1st Rufous Hummer seen at kitchen window feeder at 12 Noon.
I noticed the feeder was rocking back and forth ...hmmm....and there he was
a minute later.

Out of curiosity for what is blooming: only one of our Flowering Red
Currants is just starting while most haven't even given a hint yet. (This
one sheltered up against SW corner of house.) Also went back to check Indian
Plum natives and they are just barely blooming as well. At any rate, this
early migrant will probably not stay around no matter what. North to
Alaska!!! (or wherever)

Pam will put out multiple feeders this afternoon in hopes of a more
substantial Rufous invasion soon.

Also have pair of RB Nuthatch, pair of Downy Woodpecker, a RB Sapsucker, and
a noisy WB Nuthatch who has hit every tree on our place over the past week.
This along with the usual sparrows, finch and siskins.

Good Birding,
John Thomas
