Dear OBOL --- good news, Canvasback ducks in both waterways.
GBH standing around on roof tops hoping for nesting sites if hawk will let them.
Still buffleheads, cinnamon, green-wing, mergansers, shovelers etc ..........
...
........... However ............ surely there is some good
explanation for the complete hacking to the ground of shore line vegetation.
I understand if someone wants to cut back the blackberry vines .......
but the small trees, small shrubs, .............
............ my worry is that it is all so bare now ........... that
people .......... worse, people with their dogs off of their leashes, which is not
supposed to occur, but does ........ will wander down to the water's edge,
now, all over the place! So much nesting habitat was lost.
I hope someone will respond with more information. I know this is private property and the east side of THPRD ........ but now, instead of a bit of nature in the city -
we have parking lot and devastation, city park like setting. I'm upset.
Wonder if the Bald Eagle will come back now?
My friend has photos of over three visits!
Take care,
Annette Lange Hildebrand
