I think I have now fixed my mailer so my messages will appear on Siler's
list etc.

The book that Grant Canterbury asked about is Jean Piatt's "Adventures in
Birding," a wonderful book that came out in 1973 but has mainly stories from
the 1960s, including early trips to Gambell etc.
