Dispersal is something I've studied and thought quite
a bit about.

I believe released caged birds may not be the most
common "human assisted origin" for vagrant birds. I've
seen trapped birds fly out of the cargo bays of
18-wheelers a few different times and once from a
loaded U-Haul.

It might be interesting to see if there are more
vagrants reported along major trucking routes.
