  Last night while we were sitting in our hot tub I noticed two birds flying across the runway. It was just at moon rise and not really dark. My husband went in the house to get the binoc's. The birds had flown down to the house, one was sitting on the power pole and the other flew over the hot tub. Our surprise- Turkey Vultures! We have seen only one in our area in the two years we have been here. This morning there was one sitting on a power pole preening and enjoying the morning sun.
   We have also had an American Robin visiting. Last year the visit was only for a week. We have been watching the Killdeer looking for a nesting sight in the pasture and at the end of the runway. Our Say's Phoebe has looked at many nest sites including the Barn Swallow nest we forgot to knock down. She will probably use it as she did last year.
