Clint my bad, i am new at this whole obol posting thing and i was so distraught at the thought of losing birds and habitat from Summer Lake that i just thought obolers should know (imagine no more obol posting from Summer Lake) and take it upon themselves to do something without tying up the obol wavelenths after the original posting.  I did ot even think of this as political, i was just trying to save a superior birding location.

Over the years many important environmental issue have arisen that are in need of sharing with those concerned.
 
I have read many times on obol where there should be no political comments as part of this list.  The subject being birds. I was wondering if someone of historical knowledge could share with list how issues like this should be addressed so the long term use of obol is maintained for all who want to use it for bird sightings.
 
I do hope this message is not misinterpreted as being against sharing info about Summer Lake, but it is about how to do it without a long string of messages.
Then two weeks from now a new issue arises and the list is overtaken on the new issue.  And sooner or later someone will raise an issue with which members take sides and soon the function of the list is lost.
There has been ways to share the environmental/Political information and keep the list functioning just about birds.  I am asking for someone with more knowledge than myself to teach us how to do that.
