A correction:

The old Nuttall's Woodpecker record was from 1881, not 1871.

You can find it in www.birdnotes.net by clicking on the link for a
seasonal abundance chart, picking Nuttall's Woodpecker from the list of
species, and then following the link to check underlying reports after
the plot shows up. It appears that February is one of the better months
to search for Nuttall's Woodpecker in Oregon.
