We decided with the nice warm sunshine to do a little birding around
the Eugene area. Started out at Skinner's Butte- nothing new but
great watching and listening to the Eagles and Osprey's on their nests.
At the parking lot of Fisher Butte off W 11th was a bright ORANGE
CROWN WARBLER. Part way down the road toward the butte we located a
CLIFF SWALLOW among the many Trees and VioletGreens. Also found a
very cooperative NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD working its way down the hedgerow.
At the intersection of Boulton Hill Rd. and 5th street in Veneta we
had good looks at half a dozen EVENING GROSBEAKS.
