I had at least 15 (counted at one time) WESTERN TANAGERs flying over my garden last night and into large maple trees just north of me, then back and forth over the garden for about an hour from 5 to about 6 pm. They were accompanied by equal numbers of YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERs and, higher up an OSPREY with some VAUX'S SWIFTs and for awhile, a BALD EAGLE. I live a stone's throw (even though I have no direct access to the river) from the Willamette River so that these last 3 are common seen-from-the-yard birds.
I've never seen so many WETA around here.
