My last field trip to 1st ST rapids park near down town Bend was
certainly the birdiest of the four trips taken by my COCC students. We
saw good numbers of YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS along the trail that follows
the Deschutes River. We also saw the five other species of warbler:

Nashville

Wilson's (several)

Orange-crowned

Townsend's (FOY)

MacGillivray's (FOY)

I was a bit surprised no Yellow Warbler.

We also saw lots of Flycatchers, mostly HAMMOND'S, but a few DUSKY and
at least one 'WESTERN'. My students seemed to find it a lot more fun to
bird under sunny skies and warming temperatures than the group that
braved seemingly dropping temperature and sleet on Tuesday.

Cheers,

Jim
