Ahhh ... ticks and flatflies ... the first time I help band an eagle,  
I used my sweatshirt to help cover the bird to keep it calm, and the  
flatflies deserted the ship en masse, crawling onto me when I put my  
sweatshirt back on.

About 40 of the suckers ... fortunately they can't live on people but  
it was gross!
