Hi OBOL,
I want to thank the brave person who has taken on the website maintenance...thank you, thank you.
Sunday April 27th the adult male Calliope Hummingbird visited my garden for the third year in a row. It stayed about 1 minute, during which time I was able to get a couple quick pictures. I think the little guy moved on quickly because the weather was nice and I have two adult male Anna's, one immature male Anna's, two adult female Anna's, one adult male Rufous, and two adult female Rufous Hummingbirds + a couple ?hanging out in my garden. Doesn't leave much room for anyone else.
On Monday, April 26th I had my first ever Lincoln's Sparrow sighting, it just happened to be in my garden too.
The mystery sparrow I saw at Whalen Island park (at the Coast) was a Savannah Sparrow. That's a first for me as well.
Congratulations again to Dave Irons on his hybrid hummingbird!
I do love hummingbird season. Time to hit the Columbia River Slough trail to see which hummingbirds are hanging out in the honeysuckles.
