[obol] BLACK NECKED STILTS at Tualatin River National W.R. & Blue Winged Teal

OBOL,

There were seven of these birds at Ankeny NWR today.  3 were on Foxtail Marsh-which is visible from the last pullout on the west side of Buena Vista Road before it connects with Ankeny Hill Road,  4 others were near the North end of Pintail Marsh.

Dear Obol,
Could hardly race home quickly enough.  
Two Black Necked Stilts were at TRNWR today around 5:30
They were eating along the edges in the waters south west of the main building, next
to the Hwy, sort of , as were the Blue-winged teals ... in with other Green-winged teals
and yet, completely by themselves in a way.  Beautiful!

The Stilts finally flew to the waters / shore north of the dikes and north of the little island with the blue tank on it.
Met lovely couple, Greg and Maya and birder Judith as well and hopefully Stefan Schlick will spot them as he brought his scope as I left.
Needless to say, I was ecstatic!
Many little "peeps" which I think were Least Sandpipers, Osprey and Kingfishers successfully fishing, spotted Sandpiper  ... one lone PinTail Duck still left, many other ducks, warblers etc.  ... but wanted to get the news out to you about the stilts.
I've only seen them in LaGrande's Ladd Marsh and Burns area before.
