[obol] Eugene - EVENING GROSBEAKS + opposing a Willamette Greenway permit help needed....

Hi again,

Guess I'm not awake! Forgot to say that yesterday
there was a major movement of EVENING GROSBEAKS over
the house. At least 60+. Later they were over the
Delta Ponds.

The trees over there were alive with BULLOCK'S ORIOLES
& BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS too.

On another note, has anyone successfully submitted
comments to stop a development in the Willamette River
Greenway? The new owner of the property next door has
filed for a permit to build a new 3,000 square foot
house on the greenway.

Neighbors are opposed, for various reasons! The
proposed development is 8 feet from Goal 5 Salmon
Habitat. We'd like to focus our comments on that, and
the pond restoration project immediately to the north
of the proposed development. The area is home to
neo-tropical migrants and year round song and water
birds. Comments are due Tuesday, 5/13.

Anyway, just a thought! If you have ideas, please
email me off the list, so the folks that don't follow
directions don't have their inboxes cluttered.

Thanks, and good birding!

Kat in Eugene
